Worship in Pink Weekend
o Komen Atlanta's Third Annual Worship in Pink Weekend set record numbers! Ninety-four religious organizations conducted a Worship in Pink event and more than 29,000 individuals received breast health materials from Komen Atlanta!
The weekend is a great opportunity for Atlanta's churches, mosques, and synagogues to spread the life-saving message of early detection and honor their communities' survivors.
Komen Atlanta provides packets of breast health information for the congregation and a suggested script about breast cancer and breast health for the service. The religious organizations are encouraged to make the day a celebration of survivors. Some invite survivors to speak about their experiences, host a special luncheon for survivors, or encourage the congregation to wear pink clothes.
