Row for the CureBackground InformationIn 2007, the Head of the Hooch Regatta elected to follow USRowing's lead in supporting Row for the Cure as its philanthropic endeavor. The Hooch encouraged all participating teams to hold their own Row for the Cure event and offered an online fundraising tool. Atlanta Rowing Club and Saint Andrew Rowing Club adopted Row for the Cure as their local community service project, and the two clubs sponsored the first day-long row-a-thon on the Chattahoochee River. Georgia State and Atlanta Junior Rowing Association joined in 2008 and GA Tech followed in 2009. Since 2007, Row for the Cure Atlanta fundraising efforts have raised more than $100,000 for Komen Atlanta. Event InformationThis year, Row for the Cure will be held Saturday, September 17th from 7a.m. to 7p.m. at Azalea Park on the Chattahoochee River, 203 Azalea Drive, Roswell, GA 30075. Established teams in the local rowing community will participate in a 12-hour row-a-thon throughout the day along the river. To make a donation, visit www.headofthehooch.org/r4tcatlanta.
